PURA commended for inclusive workplace culture
TUGHE’s Ilala Regional Secretary, Ms. Sara Rwezaula, has commended the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA) for its continued committmet to promoting an inclusive workplace culture by actively involving its employees in key institutional matters.
Ms. Sara gave these congratulations on August 15, 2025 in Dar es Salaam during the General Assembly of TUGHE, PURA Branch.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Sara noted that since TUGHE entered into an agreement with PURA to establish a workers' council five years ago, PURA has emerged as one of the leading institutions in promoting employee participation.
“Since I got to know PURA through TUGHE activities and by participating in PURA workers’ council meetings as a member, I have witnessed firsthand how PURA provides opportunities for its employees to participate in issues concerning the Institute”
"I have personally witnessed employees being involved in providing advice, opinions, reviewing the institution's budget, reviewing implementation reports, reviewing the institution’ strategic documents and so on. This level of engagement is commendable and sets a positive example. Congratulations," added Ms. Sara.
In response to the congratulations, PURA Director General, Mr. Charles Sangweni, who was present at the meeting, expressed his appreciation, stating that PURA receives the recognition with great humility and remains committed to continually strengthening employee engagement in the workplace year after year.
