PURA enlightens lawmakers on oil, gas

Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA) deployed the Energy Week Exhibition held recently at Bunge Grounds in Dodoma to expound on the status of petroleum exploration and production in the country to Honorable Members of the Parliament.

Through such an Exhibition, PURA explained swathes of issues such as the status of natural gas production from Songo Songo and Mnazi Bay fields as well as petroleum exploration and development projects currently undertaken in the country.

PURA also used the platform to elaborate on plans to auction open exploration blocks and the overall activities it undertakes.

Conducted for three years in a row since 2022, the Energy Week Exhibition has been organized by the Tanzania Ministry of Energy in collaboration with her institutions. This year’s Exhibition took place from 15th to 19th April 2024.

The Energy Week Exhibition provides a room for Honorable Members of Parliament in Tanzania to broaden their understanding of projects and programs implemented in the energy sector in the country.
