The Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA) emerged triumphant at the local content awards after being named the first winner in the category of institutions working closely with the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC) to implement local content activities.

Following such victory, PURA was given an award at the closing ceremony of the Fourth National Local Content Forum held in Dar es Salaam on April 28, 2024.

Giving a brief on the awards and the whole process of finding winners from different category groups, the Chairman of the independent committee established to oversee the process Mr. Christopher Mushi from the President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Government Authorities) stated that the assessment was fair and square for terms and conditions were strictly observed.

“The minimum number of contestants in each group category was five and the winners in each category were supposed to score at least fifty percent” added Mr. Mushi.

The guest of honor at the event, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Mashaka Biteko presented the awards to winners from each category group.

The Forum brought together over 350 stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to deliberate on the participation of local nationals in strategic projects implemented in the country.
