PURA participates in the Economic Empowerment Exhibition, Arusha


A team of experts from the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA) have attended the Fourth Exhibition of Funds and Economic Empowerment Programs, at Sheikh Amri Abed Stadium, in Arusha.

The exhibition is organized by the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC), which officially started on Sunday, February 7, 2021 until Saturday, February 13, 2021.

The guest of honor, the Prime Minister Hon. Kassim Majaliwa, is expected to officially open the exhibition on February 9, 2021 and brought to its peak by the Minister, Prime Minister's Office, Policy, Parliament, Labor, Employment, Youth and the Disabled Hon. Jenista Mhagama on February 13, 2021.

Some of the issues that PURA experts will expound on at PURA’s booth number 27, include the establishment of PURA, its responsibilities, oil and natural gas exploration activities, local content issues and opportunities in oil and gas sector and more.

The purpose of the exhibition is to raise public awareness about the presence, responsibilities and criteria used in providing services to empowerment funds to encourage citizens to benefit from the opportunities available in such funds.

It is also about educating the people on how to create a culture of saving and investing in various profitable projects through the establishment and strengthening of social financial groups.
