The Tanzania Association of the Deaf (TAD) has expressed gratitude to the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA) for sponsoring the commemoration of International Week of Deaf People (IWDP) 2023 observed nationally in Mbeya from September 25 to 30, 2023.

The gratitude was expressed on 20th November 2023 in Dar es Salaam by the TAD National Youth Secretary, Mr. Zalala Suleiman who also serves as the Chairman of TAD Rufiji District.

While handing over a certificate of appreciation to PURA, Mr. Zalala (left) said TAD recognizes and appreciates PURA's contribution to special needs groups.

He also thanked PURA for its efforts in raising awareness about upstream petroleum activities in the country, highlighting available opportunities and how special groups can utilize them.

Upon receiving the certificate on behalf of the Director General, PURA’s Director of Corporate Services Mr. Rogasian Ngumbi said the Authority is sincerely humbled by the recognition and that it will continue to sponsor and participate in IWDP commemorations depending on the organization’s financial status.

PURA has sponsored the IWDP commemoration for three years since 2021. In addition, PURA has also been providing awareness of petroleum exploration, development, and production activities in the country and expounding on opportunities available for special needs groups.
